Fifty years of romance and research in Borneo / by Charles Hose ; with an introduction by Brian Durrans

Information About

Hose followed convention, including that of the 'eccentric Englishman'; but running through all this text is also the independent spirit of an outsider. Here, he reserves some of his deepest reflections not for the academic or colonial establishment but for the ordinary reader, and perhaps even for Posterity itself. This book makes more sense of his others, as a good epitaph illuminates a life.
