Discipline in Singapore schools

Information About

This is the report of a second survey on teachers' perceptions on the state of discipline in Singapore schools conducted by the Singapore Teachers’ Union. The first survey was carried out in 1985. This survey has identified some serious problems of indiscipline among certain groups of students and also highlighted a high incidence of minor misbehaviour which disrupts school and classroom life. It recommended mounting a collaborative effort among the Ministries of Education, Community Development and Home Affairs to check this rising incidence of indiscipline in some schools.
