This book is intended to be a guide to the general principles of law which are applicable in the field of non-marine insurance. It deals extensively with the local statutes and case-law bearing on the subject, including the law of motor insurance. All relevant cases in Singapore and Malaysia have been identified and given the critical analyses and facility of exposition. Four chapters are devoted to a consideration of the law relating to motor insurance because a very large number of the reported decisions of the Singapore and Malaysian courts involving insurance law concern motor insurance law. With the exception of a few decisions of the courts in Singapore, the law is stated in the light of the law reports available in Singapore on 30 June 1987.
