Information About

This map was drawn by 'Fakymolano', i.e. Fakih Maulana Muhammad Amiruddin, former sultan of Maguindanao, for Captain Thomas Forrest, during a visit to Mindanao in 1775. The map and geographical namesin Malay in Jawi scrip are by Fakymolano, with romanized transliterations added by Forrest. It was subsequently used by Forrest to provide the interior features of his chart of 'Part of Magindano' (Plate *18 in Forrest's Voyage to New Guinea and the Moluccas ... 1779). Circ.
