Information About

Somewhere-bound - the idea of movement, of search, and also of displacement, a state from which the poet looks for the possibilities offered by new bearings, unfettered by prescribed notions of time and place. This awareness, of the vastnesses behind every human decision and alongside every action or path taken, creates the peculiar inwardness of his imagery. These poems are, naturally and in many respects, expressive of a youthful resilience. Some of the best instances occur in the pieces that grew out of experiences in the army.
