Moments in a Singapore life / Goh Sin Tub

Information About

In this collection of poems, the author encapsulates in himself a miniature history of Singapore, having lived his life here through the colonial days, the Japanese Occupation, the post-war years, the Malaysian Merger, Independence, the early PAP years, the skyscraper-building era of the Seventies, right down to the Speak Mandarin Campaign. Although the recollections in these poems reflected the personal thoughts and feelings of the author, a lot of it ran parallel to Singapore's experience over the last half century.
