Entitlement of Singapore employees to retrenchment benefit / by Yaw A. Debrah, Wee Beng Geok

Information About

This paper provides a general review of employees' entitlement to retrenchment benefit in Singapore. It examines the reasons why regulatory legislation failed to guarantee retrenchment benefit to some employees in liquidated companies in Singapore. It is suggested that it would be better to define retrenchment more clearly in terms of dismissal or involuntary termination beyond the control of the employee.
