This is a compilation of all the important and binding cases adjudicated upon in the Supreme Court of the Straits Settlements. The author attempted to compile complete and reliable reports as concisely as possible, while arguments of counsel, decisions of the judges and judgements are stated in full, using the same words of the court. Cases of a similar nature are connected by annotations and footnotes. In vol. 1, there are, a judicial historical account of the administration of justice in the Straits Settlements from its foundation as well as the changes and reforms introduced in the constitution of the Supreme Court.
