This publication is a permanent record of the exhibition "Reminiscences of the Straits Settlements Through Postcards" jointly organised by the National Archives of Malaysia and the National Archives of Singapore in 2004. The publication comprises of selected postcards from the exhibition. The exhibition and publication aim to promote greater awareness of the shared history of Singapore and Malaysia, promotes learning and appreciation of the past situations and events, serves as a window to the socio-cultural life of the people in the Straits Settlements under British administrations and the artistic as well as aesthetic values of yester-years not commonly found in other source materials.
