Formed by siblings Ben and Narelle Kheng, Sandra Riley Tang and Jon Chua, The Sam Willows launched their eponymous debut EP in 2012, and has since had a meteoric rise that extends beyond Singapore. Their North American tour in March 2013 included performing in South by Southwest, one of the largest music festivals in America, and the Canadian Music Festival, the largest new music festival in Canada with 1000 acts performing in 60 venues over 6 nights. Inspired by the likes of Mumford & Sons, Bon Iver and Joss Stone, their brand of country-folk has drawn over 320,000 views on their Youtube account, where they release unique covers as well as original compositions. Since their EP launch they have been busy performing live, participating in Celebrate 2013, Singapore Polytechnic’s launch of their own record label SPEAR, been chosen to take part in Steve Lillywhite Production Week, a unique opportunity with the five-time Grammy winning producer, featured in a slew of local music festivals and much more. In 2014, they toured Korea, including a stopover at famed indie music district Hongdae, and won the 'My Rock n Roll Rumble’ at the m:idea Youth Choice Awards organised by Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
