The Empress' old clothes

Grey matter reveals as the paint did peel. Tenacity to grab at fame bestowed within the district of concrete and steel, an Empress' fate has to be cemented. The "colourful" laundry and the iridescent HDB backdrop contrasts sharply with the fading, peeling salmon paint of the old cinema. The old Empress cinema has been the neighborhood's landmark for agespast. It sits quietly along Clementi Central (Clementi Ave 3) and has been left abandoned for many years. Many residents expressed sadness at how the spanking new devlopments in the vicinity has somehow drawn more comparison to the cinema's sad, sorry state. Maybe soon, the building will be given a new lease of life, or be torn down to make way for mdorn malls. Whatever the future holds, the residents shall wait with abated breath...
