Siglap Secondary School : overcoming fear

I guess it was challenging when I first took the Normal Tech students because it was a culture shock, students were running all over the place and shouting vulgarities and even throwing things at you. Fear was overcome when I remembered how a teacher used to help me in my teenage rebellious years and she went the extra mile for me. I guess remembering who we used to be really matters and they kept me humble to put myself in the shoes of my students and understanding their culture to teach.
