1. Introduction
Seng Heng Engineering is a small and medium enterprise (SME) providing fasteners, turnkey machining and corrosion resistant coating products globally for the past 70 years. [1][8]
2. History
Seng Heng Engineering started out as a small company founded by the late Mr Lau Kum Kuan, called Seng Heng Iron Works, producing bolts and nuts in the 1940s.
Since 2013, Seng Heng located at Joo Koon Circle, with a land area of 120,000 sq ft is managed by Mr Jeffrey Lau, the Chairman and Mr Jackie Lau, the managing director of the company.

● Vision: To be the global leading fasteners, turnkey machining and corrosion resistant coating manufacturer in the Oil & Gas industry for Original Equipment Manufacturers, Engineering Procurement Contractors and major Oil companies.

4. Products
Seng Heng Engineering provides products and services to a wide range of industries such as Refineries and Petrochemical Plants, LNG Plants, Power Plants, Gas and Steam Turbine, Heavy Civil Construction, Offshore Platform, FPSO and Subsea (API 20E). [1]

In 1989, Seng Heng Engineering through the Singapore Institute of Standards and Industrial Research (SISIR) sought help from foreign experts to develop corrosion resistance coating and have enabled the company to break through the international market. [3] Below are the current different types of coatings that Seng Heng Engineering offers:

5. Milestones
The following is a list of accreditation and certification which has been awarded to Seng Heng Engineering [1]:
- Certified to ISO 9002 in year 1994
- Upgraded to ISO 9001:2000 in year 2002
- Upgraded to ISO 9001:2008 in year 2009
- Certified Factory Production Control(FPC) to BC1: 2008 in year 2010
- Certified to OHSAS 18001:2007 in year 2010
- Awarded BizSAFE STAR in year 2010
- Certified API Q1 in year 2013
- Awarded Singapore H.E.A.L.T.H Award (Bronze) in year 2014
- Certified 20E API Monogram in year 2015
Seng Heng Engineering is one of ten companies in the world which has met the thorough demands of the subsea industry for quality and safety to attain the API Q1 certification. With Shell and ExxonMobil among its customers, the company hopes this accreditation will allow it to increase its market share by 20 per cent when it enters the emerging markets of Russia, Brazil, and India. 1940 Founded by Mr Lau Kum Kuan in Chinatown called Seng Heng Iron Works.
1956 Moved to Geylang, with a land area of 1000 sq ft. Its company name changed to Seng Heng Engineering Contractor. Seng Heng’s nature of business was fabrication of iron grilled gate.
1979 Moved to Eunos with a land area of 27,000 sq ft. Its company name changed to Seng Heng Engineering Pte Ltd.
1992 Seng Heng has successfully obtained ISO 9000 award by SISIR.
2006 Mr Jackie Lau joined Seng Heng after completion of his studies.
2008 Seng Heng bought Woodlands factory in the year 2008 to cater growing demands.
2010 Seng Heng obtained OHSAS and TUV certification.
Seng Heng obtained BizSAFE STAR certification.
2011 Completed HR capability program with Singapore National Employers Federation (SNEF) and SPRING Singapore. [6]
2012 Moved to Joo Koon Circle with a land area of 120,000 sq ft.
2013 Seng Heng obtained API Q1 certification. [2][7]
2014 Seng Heng obtained Singapore H.E.A.L.T.H. Award (Bronze). [5]
2015 Seng Heng becoming the first Southeast Asian company to receive 20E API Monogram license in June 2015.[4]
