Dempsey Hill, located in Singapore, is now a thriving shopping hub buzzing with activity. The place itself is filled with a wide variety of shops - restaurants, art and design shops as well as a private cellar where we can enjoy fine wines. These shops are just a taste of what Dempsey Hill offers currently. However, behind this flourising shopping hub lies a history some of us remember. This place was formerly known as the British army Barracks as well as the CMPB National Service enlistment centre. Some old buildings are still being conserved at Dempsey Hill too. The bountiful and lush greenery of Dempsey Hill is a perfect place for relaxation after an arduous day of work and schooling. This was not the case in the past when Dempsey Hill was not as developed as it is today. Today, Dempsey Hill is an attractive tourist destination to many people who come to Singapore. Dempsey Hill is a crystal-clear example that our country has indeed developed from a small fishing village to a prosperous and vibrant hub of life which nurtures talents recognised all over the world.Furthermore, our homeland is still developing. I am sure that it will soar to great heights in the future.
