Tradition of the NS passing-out-parade (POP)

Recollection
Tradition of the NS Passing-Out-Parade (POP) I attended my son Liwei's POP at Pulau Tekong on 6 Sep 2006. As part of the programme for the Graduation Parade, the graduants re-entered the Parade Square without their cap on; after the march-past in full battle order. Following the tradition of the POP, parents were invited to enter the Parade Square to present the caps to their sons and to put it on for them. It was an emotional moment when parents share a sense of pride in their sons' achievements. The finale was an "Infantry Roar" Display as a tribute to those fathers who have also performed their National Service about 20 years ago. I was one of them.... 1984 Practising "leopard crawl" for NS 1985 Leg exercise for NS 1988 Practising "break dance"
