The use of chalk and chalkboard in class

Recollection
Have you ever seen schools using chalk and chalkboards nowadays? Before 1970s, every class was issued with boxes of white and coloured chalk and dusters. When the chalkboard was cleaned the dust would fly all about. The desks nearest to the chalkboard (blackboard or greenboard) was always coated with dust. In Primary the children were issued with a small green board which they could write or draw with chalk on the front. At the reverse side of the board, it was used to line the desk before working with plasticine during art period.
