Pig Slaughter House and Kampong

Recollection
I had worked for about 32 years, with 26 years related to food. Out of which, 6 years was spent in the slaughter house. There was a time where Singapore imported pigs from Bali, and they had to investigate the pigs by using their lymph nodes. We discovered that the pigs had pigs tuberculosis which can spread to humans. About 60% of those pigs were infected. Based on the severity, like primary or secondary, appropriate measures were taken. I also went to MacRitchie to investigate the vector for malaria. In the past, the kampong had no proper collection and disposal. There were piles of rubbish near the homes. Children often played with matches that could result in fire. "
