Mahdev Mohan was a Nominated Member of Parliament (NMP) in Singapore’s 13th Parliament from 2016 to 2018. He participated in several legislative debates, including those on amendments to the Computer Misuse and Cybersecurity Act 2017, and proposed ways to combat ‘fake’ news. He was also involved in consultations for and the passage of the Cybersecurity Act 2018.
Mohan obtained his Bachelor of Laws from the National University of Singapore (NUS). At NUS, he served as Deputy Chief Editor of the Singapore Law Review. Mohan also holds a Master of Laws degree from Stanford Law School, where he studied on a Fulbright scholarship from 2008 to 2009.
Over the years, Mohan’s career has spanned the private sector, academia and civil service, including Google, Singapore Management University and the Ministry of Law. He is currently with KGP Legal as co-head of the Technology & Start-up Law Practice, drawing on his experience in multinational technology companies.
