Raj Joshua Thomas

Raj Joshua Thomas (b. 1979) was a two-term Nominated Member of Parliament (NMP) from 2021 to 2025 but resigned before his second term was due to end, and joined the People’s Action Party in February 2025.

An alumnus of St Joseph’s Institution, Thomas graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Political Science (Honours) from the National University of Singapore.

Thomas was reappointed as NMP in July 2023 but resigned in February 2025, a few months from the end of his term. During his term as NMP, he spoke up on issues relating to low-wage workers, fair employment opportunities for Singaporeans, as well as racial and religious harmony.

Thomas was also the President of the Security Association Singapore, a trade association representing the security industry in Singapore. He was elected President of the association in 2017 and continued in his role for eight years till February 2025.

He is currently a managing partner at Tang Thomas LLC. His practice areas include criminal and commercial litigation, arbitration, and advice on employment and regulatory matters. He also works as a volunteer lawyer under the Law Society’s Criminal Legal Aid Scheme.

Beyond the legal profession, Thomas serves as a council member at the Workplace Safety and Health Council and as a Board Member of Workforce Singapore.
