Sri Siva Krishna Temple was originally established in Sembawang in 1962. The temple has a unique deity that is a combination of Lord Siva and Lord Krishna.

It was founded by P Kunjukrishnan, who cleared a plot of land and built a shed in which he set up a shrine. As the number of devotees grew, a committee was formed to manage the shrine, which was named Sri Siva Krishna Temple.

When its original site was marked for government redevelopment plans, the temple was relocated to its current site at Marsiling Rise, in 1982and housed in a makeshift structure. A committee led by Arumugam Sivalingam began efforts to build a proper temple in 1986. A ground-breaking ceremony was held in 1987, and the temple was completed and consecrated in 1996.

In 2022, the temple opened a four-storey extension that includes a multi-purpose hall with a seating capacity for 250, classrooms, a dance studio, and a roof terrace. People of all races and religions use these facilities. Additionally, the temple holds an annual street procession during which the presiding deity is ferried in a chariot to bless devotees all around Woodlands.

The renovation of the temple, which cost approximately two million dollars, began in January 2024, and the consecration took place a year later, in February 2025. Prime Minister Lawrence Wong attended as the special guest, along with about 10,000 devotees.
