This book features 50 specially curated items from the Rare Materials Collection at the National Library, Singapore.
The items in this volume include a lithographed Qu’ran from 1869, a 16th century hand-coloured Dutch map showing the location of Sincapura and an 1821 English translation of the Sejarah Melayu (Malay Annals).
Each item features lavish photographs and is accompanied by a description written by librarians from the National Library.
The Rare Materials Collection: Selections from the National Library Singapore shines a spotlight on the collection of more than 19,000 artefacts spanning five centuries.
