About Love Our Libraries and Archives (LOLA) 2025
We’re turning 30! Celebrate this special milestone with us this September (our birthday month) with a series of exciting festivities and programmes at our libraries and archives across the island.
Birthday Celebrations on 6 September 2025
Concurrent celebrations will be taking place at our libraries and archives, with each location hosting a range of programmes and activities. So, make sure to plan a visit to your nearest library and join in the celebrations on 6 September!
If you’re in the area, pop by the National Library Building at Victoria Street for a preview of Chapters, a Libraries and Archives physical card game that will be available for redemption later this year, as well as programmes held at the National Library and the Central Library.
Digital Love Letters
Show your appreciation for the libraries, archives, and Singapore this SG60! Simply submit a Digital Love Letter during your next visit to our libraries, the National Archives of Singapore, and the Former Ford Factory.

To celebrate 30 years of stories, we have prepared a collection of 30 heartfelt love letters expressing appreciation from NLB’s staff, patrons, and volunteers, prefaced by a special letter from the Minister for Digital Development and Information, Mrs Josephine Teo.
Accompanied by archival photos that span the rich history of Singapore’s libraries and archives, we invite everyone to take a trip down memory lane with us as we reminisce the bonds that unite us all as one NLB community, reading, learning and discovering together.

Get a sneak preview of what usually lies behind closed doors and find out how our libraries have progressed and transformed over the years in processing and cataloguing library materials.
