In this unique conversational presentation, Ben Slater (author of Kinda Hot: The Making of Saint Jack in Singapore, co-director of Tony's Long March and curator/researcher of 'Western' films made in Singapore) will explore the rich context of Peter Bogdanovich's 1979 film Saint Jack, from the Superspy movies and literary adaptations that preceded it, Hawaii 5-O's Singapore episode (shot at the same time as Saint Jack), to the landscape of Paul Theroux's novel and archetype of the 'White Man in Singapore', as well as Slater's friendships with Saint Jack crew members, the late Tony Yeow and Pierre Cottrell.

*The talk will precede a screening of Saint Jack (M18) at 5pm
