When you look at hand-lettered book covers or movie posters, what do you notice? In this talk by hand-letterer Nathaniel Ong, learn about what makes typography effective through lettering elements, principles of good lettering, and composition. You will learn how to critique and pin-point improvement areas in different layouts and apply it to your own work. Armed with the knowledge of what works and what does not, you will be able to create powerful and compelling pieces suited for their purpose.
Look forward to more sessions under our Pro Series, a suite of talks curated by library@orchard that gives insight into the craftsmanship of various design disciplines. Topics include: photography, calligraphy, and costume design.
