SPD conducts disability awareness talks to the general public to create awareness of the needs of people with disabilities (PWDs). These talks aim to help participants understand the challenges PWDs face and manage misconceptions about PWDs. Participants will learn about the different types of disabilities, barriers faced by PWDs, disability etiquette and how to interact with PWDs. Assistive technology devices will be showcased during the session to demonstrate how these devices help PWDs overcome the challenges that they face. The talk will also touch on what SPD does and the programmes that SPD offers. Participants will walk away from this talk with more respoect and understanding of PWDs as individuals.
