Singaporeans are world-class planners. But it's a good idea to plan your vacation, then go off-script to experience the joy of travel!

Lee Siew Hua writes travel stories for the Life section of The Straits Times. Her travels have taken her to all seven continents, where she has filed stories on Antarctica, a Great White Shark cage-dive in Australia and a road trip to the far western edge of China.

Recent editing portfolios have included The Life multimedia magazine, Urban style magazine, and National Day Specials. She has also written on politics and religion as a Senior Writer on the Political desk and Enterprise investigative section, and was a Sunday Times columnist. Previously based in Washington, she established the paper’s United States Bureau and later joined the World Bank as a consultant. She has worked in Bangkok as a foreign correspondent as well.
