Ever wondered what librarians do? In this series of monthly talks, find out what makes our librarians tick as they share highlights of their work from the collections of the National Library.

Join Librarian Jessie Yak as she pieces together Singapore’s past as an early travellers’ hub during the late 19th and early 20th centuries through maps, memoirs, travelogues, guidebooks, postcards, menus, brochures from the National Library’s Rare Materials and Donors’ collections.

About the Librarian
Jessie Yak is a Librarian with the National Library. She is part of the Rare Materials Collection team and her responsibilities include collection development and management, as well as research and reference assistance. Jessie was trained in Chinese language and literature, but is interested in a wide range of subjects.
