"Integrity . . . takes having the courage to do the right thing, no matter what the consequences will be. Building a reputation of integrity takes years, but it takes only a second to lose, so never allow yourself to ever do anything that would damage your integrity. Profit in dollars or power is temporary, but profit in a network of people who trust you as a person of integrity is forever."

 

There are many real-life examples of people who take short cuts, misrepresent themselves or cover up their mistakes in order to gain fame, money and power. Unfortunately, success that is built on a foundation of falsehoods often have terrible consequences when the lies are exposed. Read this Forbes article on the importance of integrity.
