About the author:

Born in 1982, Joshua Ip is the Singaporean author of sonnets from the singlish, a volume of 44 sonnets on growing up in Singapore in the 90s. He has been widely published across print and online anthologies such as No Other City, onewinged, softblow and Peregrine. His poetry has won awards at the Shell-RJC Poetry Competition and the NAC Golden Point Awards (2012).

He was previously mentored by local authors Dr Lee Tzu Pheng and Ms Heng Siok Tian under the Creative Arts Programme, a writing mentorship program by the Ministry of Education.

He still wants to be a writer when he grows up.
