Professional Development Programme for Librarians
All NLB librarians enjoy the opportunity to develop their competencies through the NLB Professional Development Programme. This 2-year programme is designed to deepen the librarians' subject specialization and raise their standing in the community. This is done through our Learn.Immerse.Practice framework. The learning modes range from modular courses at university level, professional mentoring, conferences, and attachments to job and project assignments. Librarians who were on this Programme had found it beneficial in helping them kick-start their professional development journey.

We are committed to staff development as well as building a good team of trained information professionals who will help us in achieving its vision of being a world-class library. In support of NLB's Shared Value - Passion for Learning, we encourage continuous learning by providing staff with opportunities to acquire the relevant competencies and skills. Education Assistance Scheme
We strongly believe that every staff should be developed to the fullest; passion for learning is a shared value we hold dearly. At NLB, we strive to nurture staff by providing them with opportunities to embark on their quest for knowledge. The Education Assistance Scheme endeavor to encourage self-directed learning through the provision of partial-subsidy for staff seeking educational advancement.

Internship
Our internship programme gives students a deeper insight into what makes NLB a well-established leader in library services and inspires you to seek a career with us. To this end, NLB partners tertiary institutions to provide internship opportunities in library and digital media areas.
