National Library Singapore is back with the Heritage Road Show once again!

What do you remember from the years of growing up in Singapore? Do you recall the opening of the National Stadium in 1973? The Heritage Road Show this year focuses on the theme of 'I Remember Singapore' and celebrates the 50th anniversary of Singapore’s self-governance from 1959 to 2009. What do you recall of your own life against the backdrop of significant events in the last 50 years of Singapore’s self-government? Your experiences and stories form a part of the history of Singapore and we want to hear from you! If you have written narratives, print materials or photos of these significant events and milestones in your life, do share your life experiences with us at iremember.sg@nlb.gov.sg. Your stories and photos may be selected and showcased on our website at www.iremember.sg (from 1 July 2009). Your contributions stand to win cash prizes of up to $5,000!

How to donate your stories or photos:

  1. If you have personal stories to share on your memories of Singapore for the past 50 years, you can email them to: iremember.sg@nlb.gov.sg

  2. If you have photos illustrating Singaporeans of all walks of life, places and landscapes of Singapore for the past 50 years and have a flickr account, you can upload your photos to Flickr_SNAP and select the ‘I remember.sg’ category to contribute your photos.

  3. If you know of someone who wishes to share their stories and photos but are unable to email or upload their photos by themselves, bring them down to our Heritage Road Show on 1 August at The Plaza of the National Library Building from 11 am to 6 pm and we will be happy to help them out.
