The Library Supply Centre (LSC) was established in April 1997 and currently managed by the Resource Discovery and Management (RDM). RDM’s primary mission is to optimise processes and enhance resource discovery to support life-long learning. LSC houses two of the RDM sub-divisions: Resource Discovery and Resource Management.
RDM oversees the acquisitions, cataloguing, physical processing, distribution and circulation of physical library materials in all formats and in the four official languages (i.e. English, Chinese, Malay and Tamil) to National Library Board’s (NLB) network of public libraries and the Lee Kong Chian Reference Library. RDM also acquires digital materials of journals, newspapers, books and magazines, which can be found under NLB’s e-resources database.
In addition, LSC also supports the administrative processes for Legal Deposit, where every Singapore publisher is required to deposit two (2) copies of every publication published in the Republic of Singapore with NLB. Further details of Legal Deposit can be found at http://deposit.nl.sg.
