Have you ever wondered if you are currently in the right career, or how you are going to guide your child in choosing the right career? Come join us for a talk by Dr Tang Yew Fei, a lecturer from Nanyang Polytechnic, as he gives an overview on the Holland Codes or the Holland Occupational Themes, also known as RIASEC Code Survey (Realistic – Doers; Investigative – Thinkers; Artistic – Creators; Social – Helpers; Enterprising – Persuaders; Conventional – Organisers).
The RIASEC code survey, developed by John L. Holland, is a widely-used tool to identify one’s preferred occupation category and is used by career counsellors globally to guide students, including secondary school students in Singapore. You will also get to undertake a RIASEC profiling assessment at the end of the session!

This talk is based on the book “Making vocational choices: a theory of vocational personalities and work environments”. Suitable for teenagers and adults, and admission is free. Registration is required at the library e-kiosks or at http://www.nlb.gov.sg/golibrary.
