THE LESSON was part of a trilogy IT WON’T BE TOO LONG, presented by Drama Box at the Singapore International Festival of Arts in 2015.  The trilogy earned critical acclaim, and in particular THE LESSON was praised for engaging the public deeply in the discussion on land use issues in Singapore.  It was nominated for the 2016 Straits Times Life! Theatre Awards “Production of the Year” and “Best Director”.

THE LESSON is an interactive performance, involving participation in a scenario, where the public decides as a community, the facilities to remove to make way for a new MRT station in their estate.

This docu-presentation will be a screening of the video recording of the original production in 2015, interspersed with presentations of the written response of the public when they made their decisions as a community during the same performance.

There will be a 15 minute talk-back session at the end of the screening with Kok Heng Leun, one of the main creatives behind this work.
