Ever wondered what librarians do? In this series of monthly talks, find out what makes our librarians tick as they share highlights of their work from the collections of the National Library. Join us for a journey through our Singapore music collection – featuring Sharmini Chellapandi and Joy Loh from the National Library.

Find out more about our collection’s music materials including handwritten scores, iconic magazines as well as other works by music personalities and prominent groups in Singapore from the 1970s to the present.

Plus, get access to all forms of published Singapore musical works through the digital archive MusicSG. The National Library’s music collection is part of Singapore’s musical heritage and provides insights into the creative and social influences that have played a part in our country’s social history.

About the Speakers:
Sharmini Chellapandi manages the Arts team, which encompasses literary, visual and performing arts, at the National Library. She enjoys reading and listening to music and has discovered a wealth of published and unpublished treasures since joining the National Library. She is the author of What A Stupid Question! (2006), written partly to satiate her curiosity about the world.

Joy Loh is an Associate Librarian with the National Library. She manages and develops the library’s performing arts collection and oversees the digital archive MusicSG. She also has an interest in the study of metaphysics.

Free admission and registration is required.
