Raising a Successful Child
Are there different types of intelligence?
Does being gifted refer only to getting high grades in school?
And what is 'holistic development'?
Professor Steven Pfeiffer will share how you can better develop your child's academic and social abilities. The talk will draw on Professor Pfeiffer's latest book, "Serving the gifted" Evidence-based clinical and psycho-educational practice", which will be published later this year.
Professor Pfeiffer was the Executive Director of Duke University's internationally-renowned gifted programme. He is a noted authority on the psychology of giftedness, and how parents can help their children develop into successful and psychologically-healthy adults. He currently holds the appointment of Professor at the Department of Educational Psychology & Learning Systems at Florida State University, U.S.A, and is in Singapore on sabbatical with the National Institute of Education.
This talk is suitable for parents with children from 4 to 15 years of age.
