Last week was a rather exciting week for comics fans. If you have no idea what I am talking about, the biggest event for the comics world, the Comic-Con International 2014 at San Diego, was held from 24 to 27 July. It typically features news of upcoming releases of new comic titles, movies, and TV series. Of course, nothing beats going to the panels and hearing the news live, but chances are not everyone is so lucky. Thanks to the internet and YouTube, fans like me can catch up on the news and watch some of the panels online.
I’m going to talk about a trailer that caught my eye. No, not any of the Marvel franchise because that’s everywhere. No, not Wonder Woman, even though Gal Gadot looks set to be awesome in the upcoming Batman vs. Superman movie. Nope, not the announced sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy either.
It’s Mad Max: Fury Road. Honestly, I had no idea what Mad Max was about (the first movie was released before I was born!) before I watched the trailer. Suffice it to say the trailer left an impression on me, so much so that I had to write about it here.
Somehow the trailer reminded me of Akira at some points. That’s a good thing because Akira is an awesome movie.
